The Bobcat word for this week is DETERMINED.  DETERMINED means to give direction, to cause, or to decide.  I DETERMINED this would be a good example sentence.

Lyn Siebert, BSN, MS, RN, NCSN
I have been a school nurse for 10 years, 8 of them in Prince William County Schools and 7 of them here at Beville Middle School. I have a Masters in Nursing with a school nurse focus from Wright State University, Fairborn, Ohio and am a Nationally Certified School Nurse. I am a member of the Virginia Association of School Nurses and was selected as the Virginia School Nurse of the Year October, 2010.
I am here at Beville every day of the week from 7:45 to 3:45. I take care of the immediate health needs of students, planning and implementing accomodations for students with health issues, educating student and staff on health issues, participating in Individualized Education Plans when there is a health issue that affects the student's ability to succeed academically. and providing general support to the Beville community as needed.

Medication at School
Just a reminder that all medication including cough drops must be administered through the clinic.  According to the Prince William County Schools Code of Behavior prescription and over the counter medications are considered prohibited substances unless the appropriate documentation and clearance through the school health office is provided.  The possession of a prohibited substance may result in expulsion from school.  Please clear all medication that a student needs to take during school hours with me in the clinic.  Call me if you have any questions.

Immunization Requirements for Middle School
All middle school students must have a Tdap vaccine before entry into Prince William County Schools. This is a vaccine to prevent tetanus, diptheria and pertussis. This is a Virginia Department of Health Regulation. No student can enter a Virginia school without this vaccine. If your rising 6th grader is not yet 11 your doctor may or may not give this booster. If your doctor determines that your student is too young a note written by the doctor must be presented to the school in order for the student to be admitted. If you have any questions concerning this or any vaccine please call me at school.  Please see Immunization File below for further information.
